NJ DJ & NY DJ Austin John’s Bio

401234_10151334333070701_1086892567_nAustin John has been a NJ DJ & NY DJ for weddings and private events since 2006, and is one of the most passionate DJ’s about music out today. He has been educated at the NY-based technical school DubSpot for music production in 2012. Also known by his stage name Houst Dark, is an American DJ, record producer, and remix artist. He has been an on-air mixshow DJ for 92.3 NOW FM (NYC WXRK/WNOW) as well as Music Choice Television’s Dance/Electronica, Mixtape & MCU channels, a free music service provides by various cable companies through the United States. He is also one of the official DJs for Restore the Shore, a New Jersey-based Hurricane Sandy relief organization, as well as Binboa Vodka.

Austin John has played at various clubs in New Jersey & New York including his residency at 46 Lounge Totowa (beginning in 2012), and previous residencies at Teak on the Hudson, Pub 46 and The Orange Lantern. He has also had various guest spots at venues including Le Souk NYC, Rise Lodi, Vivo Lounge Newark, Nine Lounge Hoboken, Bottagra Hawthorne, Harrah’s Pool After Dark Atlantic City, The Famished Frog Morristown, Riverside Lounge Paterson, Just Grapes Lounge Elmwood Park, and many more.

Austin John’s mixshow began on Music Choice Television with his first episode aired January 15th, 2010. It was called the “Houst Dark Music Choice Mixshow.” In 2011 is was renamed the “Houst Dark Hi Def Mixshow” has has been on air since, now over 120 episodes. The Hi Def mixshow is also available on iTunes Podcasts. Austin John has also done ghost-mixes for other DJs with their mixes air on Pulse 87.7 NYC, Sirius/Xm BPM satellite radio, and 92.3NOW. He then later did mixshows for 92.3NOW under his own name (2010-2012.)

In addition to his solo career, Houst Dark is a member of various remix groups, including one who’s remixed record reach the Top 10 of Billboard US Club in December 2013. Independently he has been a member of Ratedh.net and Crack4djs.com, both Crooklyn Clan subsidiaries.
